Grooming for a cocker spaniel in Canberra?

I’m just looking for recommendations for a dog groomer on the northside who knows how to groom a cocker spaniel.

My 5 month old puppy has just had her first session at a groomer and came back with 2 bleeding claws, after having them trimmed, and not a hair anywhere (body and legs) that is longer than a couple of centimetres. It’s only her ears that identify her as a cocker spaniel at the moment. I could understand if she was matted/dirty but she is bathed and brushed regularly so this was not the case.

I’m new to cocker spaniels but I would have thought a good trim should still leave her looking like a cocker spaniel??

We do breed clips at fancy feathers and fur and we listen to what the owners want and provided the donation of the coat is good ie not too matted we can deliver what you want.

62542323 we are located in holt/kippax

Don’t go to the place in Ainslie. Took my small spaniel in for a tidy up. Under belly only, nails and under ears, nail clip. Quoted $35 on the phone which was ok as I pay $65 for a full clip at Farrer, my regular groomer.

What a mess. I wanted him to look special as we are having a family reunion soon. Clipped all over. Hair sticking up and spiky. Lopsided everywhere including one ear longer than the other. Have spent ages trying to even the ear hair up.

The owner was unpleasant, and charged $65 …very disappointed.

I will be buying my own dog clippers, and doing my own dog, have in the past with another dog I had.
I did just as good as the groomers.

I bet I know where you took your dog, took two friends dogs to be clipped, when they went to pick them up the had the clip you mentioned.

there’s a new place in the alley beside the ainslie iga, where the bookstore once was. dunno what it’s like, but it looks impressive, might be worth checking out ‘opening’ specials if they’ve any, trying to build a clientele…

Cant recommend the mobile grooming of “please wash my dog”. My cavs neck was sliced by the clippers the groomed refused to pay for the stitches. I got the groom cost back, but it didn’t cover half of the vet costs.

Were going to leave him to regrow a coat for winter now, but I too am looking for someone reliable after winter.

A friend of mine has a cocker spaniel and she recommends Tomas King at Salon Pooch in Watson. His number is 0402 204 954.
