Gun laden black jag in high speed run!

By johnboy - 20 January 2009 19

With the AFP media unit apparently off with the pixies again we’re hearing from the Canberra Times about a high speed pursuit ending on Anzac Parade after running from Wagga Wagga to Dickson.

Two guns were located in the car following the lengthy pursuit, which began in Wagga Wagga…

Police found the car dumped near Anzac Parade a short time later and conducted a search of the area.

A man believed to be the driver of the car was arrested near the scene.

What’s Your opinion?

A Jag? I’m suprised it made it from Wagga to Dickson without breaking down!

Yeah, that Jag would almost be worth buying! :)

some people will do ANYTHING to get out of Wagga…

I saw the car chase pass me this morning on Barton Hwy – about 6 police cars and a couple of undercover cars and a new(ish) black jag in the lead…

I like that the car was found “a short time later” after the pursuit “began in Wagga Wagga”.

The driver must have had the flux capacitor serviced before the chase!

The story mentions how they gave up the chase in Dickson, too much traffic about.

Never mind breaking down, how did it make it that far without having to refuel? I’m surprised it made it past Gundagai!

Oh and you’d think they’d have managed to set up a roadblock in that time – he might have been able to dodge the road spikes but a couple of patrol cars physically blocking the road at Conroy’s Gap would have been hard to dodge!

According to the TV news the Jag driver managed somehow to evade seven strips/sets of road spikes.

And a supplementary question: if the chase finished in Dickson, how did they only catch up with the perp near the War Memorial? That’s the mother of all chases on foot.

No, they stopped chasing him in Dickson…he continued to drive & stopped at the War Memorial.

As an aside, my trainer witnessed him getting out of the car. Apparently he went bush in the Jag before giving up & hightailing it on foot after wiping down the door handles in an attempt to get rid of his prints. My trainer watched this happen & called the cops…who were there within less than a minute.

Photo on the ABC site shows an X-Type. Obviously the man had no style, any ordinary decent criminal knows that an XJ8 or XJR is the only decent getaway car.
