Gungahlin firebombing

ACT Policing is calling for witnesses to two house fires in Gungahlin this week.

About 10pm on Sunday (August 12), police attended Helby Street in Harrison where they were advised by ACT Fire and Rescue that a fire had been extinguished. There was no structural damage to the house.

Police also attended a burnt out house on Joe Croft Street in Bonner at about 2.35am this morning (August 14), where ACT Fire and Rescue advised that a fire had been burning for two to three hours before they were notified. The estimated damage to the house is $300 000.

Both houses were unoccupied as they were under construction.

AFP Forensics Services are examining the two scenes.

Anyone who may have witnessed the fires or may have information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or via crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
