Gungahlin house fire

ACT Fire & Rescue is responding to a house fire in Attunga Street Gungahlin.

First crew to arrive has reported a partial roof collapse.

Update to follow.

3:16pm Saturday 11 February 2012

Firefighters have contained the fire to the back section of the single level brick veneer home.

Crews are still working to extinguish the blaze which is still burning in the roof.

A search on arrival found no one inside the property.

3:29pm Saturday 11 February 2012

The fire has been extinguished.

Firefighters are now conducting salvage operations.

The cause of the fire will be investigated.

About sixty per cent of the house has been fire damaged and the rest affected by smoke.

The initial damage estimate is $250,000.
