Territory And Municipal Services are advising that Gungahlin Library will be closing from 10 May 2011 to 21 May 2011 while they move into their new building.

“All items borrowed from the Gungahlin Library will have an extended loan period to ensure no items will be due during the move,” said Vanessa Little, Director Libraries ACT.

“We are asking library users to return their items to nearby libraries at Belconnen, Dickson and Kippax during this time. After hours return chutes are located at each library and are available for the return of library materials 24 hours a day.

“Any items that have been requested will still be available to collect from the new library once it opens.

“The new Gungahlin Library, will provide a 3,100 square metre public library for the Gungahlin community. The library will stock 70,000 books, magazines and DVDs and feature free internet access, a media zone with DVDs and CDs, a café and outdoor courtyard.”

There will be an open day on 21 May for the curious.
