Anyone know what happened there last night ? Supposed drug and gun bust??? My sister got stuck in the traffic jam and when she eventually drove past their were 2 guys on the ground with what looked like an “Aussie Swat Team” pointing guns to their heads. I think they got pulled over by the police and ended up pointing sawn off shotties at them??????

I think there was a small story on it on the local news but i missed it and cant find it online anywhere.

[ED (Ntp) – Thanks to bd84 for locating the AFP media release that relates.]

Hit a nerve DJ?

Anyway, kudos to the coppers for getting these clowns out of the community. With any luck, they’ll receive lengthy custodial sentences. Armed drug runners (allegedly!) show absolutely no regard for the law.

And I’m sure the spot was inconvenient, but at least the city isn’t getting closed down so J-Ho can have his photo op with his mates in silly clothes.

If only criminals were more considerate of their surroundings. Who do they think they are driving along with drugs and a firearms? Ghetto hoods? Looks like Police acted with community safety in mind taking appropriate action against these blokes in an environment that reduced the risk for everybody. Is it the fault of Police that
Canberra is full of shiny arsed know it all self important bureaucrats who cannot figure an alternate route home?

What made you think they “ended up pointing sawn off shotties at them?”

If that was a pre-planned bust, and not a random pull over for a traffic infringment (and the presence of a swatish group suggests planning) then they sure picked the most inconvient spot for anyone on the highway….

or it works by itself, whatever!

hmm the link didn’t want to work.. rusty HTML skills perhaps.. so copy and paste it http://www.afp.gov.au/media_releases/act/2007/two_men_arrested_for_firearm_and_drug_offences

The AFP website here is a great source of knowledge 😉 when they update it anyway..
