So last night after a lovely dinner at Italian and Sons we were walking back to our car and noticed about 10 or so people with camp chairs just sitting around. They were located between centrelink and the rental car place on Lonsdale Street.
No talking or partying, just sitting around. No drinks, chips or nibbles, just sitting around.
Some were middle aged some were older.
It looked quite bizarre and a strange place for a gathering.
Has anybody seen them before?
Druids.
Druids? nah it’s the summernats illuminati.
Vulcans ….. It was hot enough.
They are often there. As far as I can tell they are car fans.
Australian Democrats national conference?

Decent explanation I guess. For one reason or another the rev heads love ‘cruising’ through Braddon over and over on friday nights.
Trying to beat the Centrelink queue on Monday mornings?

That would be in the phone booth at the corner of Lonsdale and Elouera…
I have no idea who they are, but;
a) given how hot it has been, I don’t blame them for sitting outside, if inside where they were staying was even worse…
b) It’s actually nice to see people interact on the street, as happens in other cities. Possibly they could get in the way, but it’s a change from “head down, get-out-of-my-way, stressed out” people
There used to be a group of Indians (I think) who would hang around the carpark at the belconnen arts centre. Probably the most use that arts centre has ever gotten.

Nah, there were too many for them to be Democrats.
