Hazard burns

On this lovely still, sunny, day the ESA asks us not to panic as they conduct burns:

5:40pm Friday 27 August 2010 – Two hazard reduction burns in the ACT tomorrow The ACT Rural Fire Service Rivers Brigade will be conducting two hazard reduction burns tomorrow within the Territory.

The first burn off of grass will occur within the Guilfoyle Street Native Grass Area in Yarralumla, between Adelaide Ave and Guilfoyle Street.

The ACT Handy Map Grid Reference for the burn is L12.

The second hazard reduction burn of wood piles will occur at Scrivener Dam.

The ACT Handy Map Grid Reference for the burn is L12.

Residents in the surrounding areas may notice smoke throughout the day.
