HHH Run... and what's this about Turner Bowls?

Hi all,

The Hash House Harriers are the biggest running group – and the biggest drinking group – in the world. We are known as “drinkers with a running problem”.

It’s an amazing group, although you don’t need to run (some stay behind to mind the bags) and you don’t need to drink (it seems some people actually want to get fit?). Basically, there are no rules, and it’s a fun group of people. You need a sense of humour, so I guess posting this on the RiotACT is a bit of a gamble!

At 6:10pm this Wednesday, 27 February 2013, the Wednesday ACT (WACT) run will start (and, later, finish) at the Southern Cross Club at Turner (formerly the North Canberra Bowls Club). There will be a drink-stop, and throughout the night drinks are pay as you go. The run is expected to take an hour, with plenty of opportunities for short-cutting.

All are welcome! Newbies (Virgins, as we call them) will be provided instructions before the run, and you don’t need to pay for your first run (it’s normally $2).

ON ON!

Now that’s out of the way… I’ve heard a rumour the Canberra Club will soon be relocating to the bowls club. We’ve all heard how the Canberra Club building will be renovated soon… Does anyone know if the relocation rumour is true?

In addition to PM’s message, I should point out a number of Hashers also walk the route (shortcutting if they need to). That is, there is a level between running and not doing anything at all 🙂

As for the rumour re the Canberra Club, first thing I heard of it was the HHH email advertising this week’s run.
