The Canberra Times informs us that the High Court of Australia is going to be open to the public on Sunday afternoons soon.

It will be the first time in more than a decade that the court has opened its doors to tourists at weekends, following budgetary pressures which forced a reduction in visitor hours during the late 1990s…

Chief Justice French hoped for an increase in funds to allow the court to open on Saturdays and Sundays in the future.

Something to add to your tourism list when entertaining visitors.

Gee I thought they would be working on the weekends to reduce the back log of cases, as it takes soooo long to get to trial these days.

The weekend will only be for the public, no sitting courts, and if I had a “trial” in the High Court I would not want it rushed so the back log can be pushed faster, two sides to every story.

Yay!!!!! Nice building.
