ACT Policing will summons a 40-year-old Rivett woman who was caught drink driving in Duffy yesterday afternoon, driving her three children home (Sunday October 26).

About 3.28pm, members of the Road Safety Operations Team (RSOT) intercepted a white Nissan Pulsar sedan on Eucumbene Drive, Duffy for a roadside screening test. The 40-year-old driver returned a positive blood alcohol reading of 0.282.

Members of the RSOT had been conducting random breath testing in the area.

The woman was issued an Immediate Suspension Notice and will be summonsed to appear in Court at a later date facing charges of high range prescribed concentration of alcohol.

The woman was identified as a repeat drink driving offender due to offences committed in New South Wales.

Driving the kids home from where? I could barely find the road at .282, who ever let her behind the wheel with a car full of kids? If she is dumb enough and irresponsible enough to do that, she is unlikely to comply with any court order.

I hope that they’ve tuned the RAPID technology so that any time a license plate associated with this idiot turns up, the driver is pulled over for a breath test.

Totally agree especially the last paragraph. How irresponsible !!!!

The article’s title is wishful thinking. Sure, we’ll never see her on the road until her suspension is served. Of course!

Just another example of why custodials should be mandatory for repeat offenders. It may not discourage offenders, but it will provide the rest of us (and her own kids) with periods of increased safety.
