UPDATE – Fire crews are continuing to fight the fire with water from both inside and outside of the house. Firefighters have started to pull the eves and metal roof sheeting away to get better access to the roof space. The local ACT Fire & Rescue Community Fire Unit is also on scene assisting with traffic marshalling and water supply.

UPDATE – Firefighters believe the lightning struck the gas main for the property which then sparked the fire. Fire crews are working to extinguish the fire which has now fully engulfed the roof space of the property. The Bronto aerial firefighting unit has now also been responded to the scene.
