Launch!

Coolio Desgracias has just let us know that Housemouse and himself will be dropping their new EP on us on the 14th of June.

Ready yourselves Canberra!

Housemouse and Coolio made a pact to release something as a duo in 2012 after collaborating on ‘Dubbo Zoo’ and ‘You Got Papped’ on ‘My Private Jet’. Fast forward a few months and our intrepid super heroes have made good on their promise. Following the template set by Madlib and J Dilla on the ‘Jaylib’ album, they have gone halves on the beats and subject matter to produce something with its own identity. And they already have material for the next release!

The rekkid features such party starters as ‘Crushin’, a lament on having to do things other than sweatin’ wit’ yo favourite beddie, and ‘David Bowie’s Penis’, a stream of consciousness joint that highlights Desgracias’ love of 90’s LA crew Freestyle Fellowship. ‘6 Joints’ also features boody-licious album art by Ed Radclyffe (The Fuelers). In the lead up to the launch the dynamic duo has been previewing the material at the newly refurbished Smiths Alternative Bookshop and at the Phoenix.

The official launch will be on Friday 14th of June at the Polish Club, featuring Trendoid and Alphabet, Babyfreeze and Dead DJ Joke. The evening will see each artist performing their own set as well as collaborating with each other. Dead DJ Joke will keep things moving between acts as well as performing a special hip hop mash up set. Doors open at 8pm and tickets are $15/$10 conc/$8 CMC members. The EP will be available on the night.
