Most of the Public Servants here will have at least heard of or used TRIM Context at some stage.

Well the company that started it all out of a garage in Canberra is now in the process of being acquired by HP.

For those that don’t know who TOWER Software are:

Tower was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Canberra, Australia, with additional offices in Australia, North America and Europe. Tower has 240 employees. Tower develops and markets enterprise content management software and solutions, primarily for regulated and government industries. Tower’s software products include electronic document and records management, business process automation, web content management, document capture and assembly, collaboration and information management solutions.

Press Releases from today’s announcement:

This is big news for Canberra and all current TOWER employees and understandably we are all anxious about the future of the product and our employment.
So far we have been reassured that no one will be made redundant, but we’ll have to wait and see over the coming months if they stick to their word.
This may even turn out to big a hugely positive move for TOWER and allow the product to gain a larger market share around the world.

Trim works all right. SAP should be shot.

Good luck to both Brand and Peta

maybe the product will actually start to work now.

Perfect example of putting a few bucks via the stock market on local companies kiddies.

Skidbladnir – I agree but at least the staff are aware whats going on. My experience a few years back was to have a takeover announced on Channel 9’s Today Show business report – prior to the staff of the company being told….My Mum knew before I did! oops 🙂

I had no idea that Trim was made right here! Assumed it was like SAP, invented by Germans.

Yeah, I think everyone at some stage said… “Nice try, we’re not going to fall for that!”

You know, its probably not a good idea to annouce a takeover bid which will result in redundancies on April 1st.
But think of the productivity you won’t lose with people still thinking they have jobs…

Hilarious!
