Human rights still abused at Quamby

The Canberra Times informs us that a year on the human rights of children being held at Quamby are still being breeched.

It’s nice to know that the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent getting good media for the Chief Minister amongst his beloved human rights lawyer buddies is really paying off in terms of protecting the human rights of the most vulnerable in the community. Oh wait, it isn’t!

Such clever ruses have been employed to improve matters as, wait for it, renaming the solitary confinement “seclusion room” a “safe room”.

I think that speaks volumes about Stanhopian values.

There’s a second story in which Katy Gallagher promises that there won’t be any cages at the new facility in Mitchell, whenever they manage to finish that.

Who cares.

Give the little fuckers bigger sheets so they can go themselves, or sumfin.

Think of all our tax dollars saved if they do so.

It’s not a concern for the mayor.

It’s a local issue that doesn’t warrant his attention.

After all, it’s not Abu Grahib.

That aside though, why shouldn’t the little fuckers be in a cage. It’s not meant to be a holiday camp like the mayor’s new facility that he can’t pay for.

“why not just bring supernanny in to fix the place up?”

Seriously Thats not a bad Idea. It won’t happen but I reckon it would get good ratings.
Also a similar scheme to that Boot camp show a few years ago were they brought teens from the UK to the mountains of Utah, something along those lines would sort a few of them out.

Can Stanhope spin this into a “me vs the evil Howard Government debate”? Stay tuned!!

Can’t they call it the ‘Naughty Corner’
