ACT Policing is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a man who indecently exposed himself in Bonython this week.

On Tuesday (November 15), police received two separate reports of a man indecently exposing himself in front of women walking along the bike path between Drakeford Drive and Bardolph Street in Bonython.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his early 20’s with a slim build. He was wearing a sky-blue or charcoal coloured hooded jumper and knee-length shorts.

Police also received a report of a man matching the above description looking into a window of a house on Kingscote Crescent around 6.45pm on Tuesday.

Anyone who may be able to assist police with their investigation, or knows the identity of the man described above is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website at www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

A group of friends and I got flashed by a woman when we were in Manuka.

She was old and nasty, but because we went to an all-boys school it was still pretty much the best thing ever.

I’m just waiting for the plethora of camera phones and the rampant recording of vision to spawn a whole new web page of flashers caught in the act.

I got flashed at in Deakin but he wasn’t really close enough to see anything. He used to park on a street at school knock off time (no pun intended) and wait for kids walking home but I guess he didn’t want to be too far away from his car for a quick getaway. He was up on the street and we were on an oval. We weren’t really worried because he wasn’t moving any closer – just standing there. I’m not even sure what happened with that one!

I got flashed once in Sydney. I told the police because it was right by a school. The police really just weren’t interested. Certainly no press releases, meetings at school and whatnot.

My mate said I should have thrown change. I’ve been waiting to be flashed again just so I can deploy this excellent strategy. Alas! I haven’t had the opportunity.

Knee length shorts? What happened to the good old trench coat? Modern day flashers just don’t have any respect for tradition.

I encountered a few flashers when I was a kid. Not sure why – densely populated area or just pretty screwed up morals in general. My mum just told me to point and laugh if I met one. Claimed that they were harmless. No idea if that was backed up by any research.

HAHAAH i got the same advice from my cousin ” no matter what it looks like – point and laugh at him” – i think the 2 worse ones i remember in canberra were ” the camera man” in wanniassa where i went to school years ago, there was a man who used to take pics of us at primary school while we played in the playground – the parents got upset about him. and the man down at kambah pool whom used to grab 6 yr olds and masturbate till his emissions went on the child – i had a friend turn up on my doorstep with her 6 yr old son hysterical at what had happened to him.. canberra in the 80’s and early 90s was weird

Does anyone else remember the “flash and wank” guy from pine island in the 90’s? – i remember our school had a special assembaly for the police to tell us how to remember descriptions and what not and what to do if he came near you. He did it to a group of our younger students as well as alot of others around that time… i wonder if he was ever caught.

Hopefully not.
