On Saturday 08-APR-06 we did the Civic Public Art Walking Tour and lived to tell the tale.

And so, I present to you item # 7, House Proud by Neil Roberts. It adorns the Playhouse Theatre on Civic Square and can also be seen from Vernon Circle. While not offensive I do wonder about a neon sign qualifying as art. Perhaps ArtsACT can provide a public art walking tour of Fyshwick in their spare time?

I’ve always liked that installation.

The ‘art’ is experienced in trying to read the verbage whilst careering around Vernon Circle.
And I doubt artsACT has much spare time right now – apparently they’re way behind with the publication of the 2007 Arts Funding Guidelines, much to the annoyance of those who are already dreaming about the putative dazzle and glitter of next year’s spectaculars.
