I drove past the Hume jail site today and noticed that someone with a sense of humour was in charge of putting up the safety signs around the place.

I drive past the new gaol each day on my way to work. It reminds me how fortunate I am not to be staying there.

I can, will and have 🙂

Haha to jerra residents.

Enjoy the views of your new jail!!!! LOL

Actually, snahon, according to the Macquarie Dictionary (usually regarded as the authority on Australian English) there are two alternate spellings: gaol and jail.

Don’t be pedantic with a pedant.

Here in Australia, it is spelt gaol.

I just get the feeling that no-one on the construction site actually noticed the irony and put up the sign as a standard “look we do care about our employees”.

For the sake of Jerrabomberra residents, it is not a jail site. It is the Alexander M. Rehab Centre with lots of naughty stools (um), (and apologies to Drawn Together).
