Interested in joining a bookclub?

Hi, I am new to Canberra and was looking for a book club to join on the northside. I have seen from previous posts that there does not appear to be many so I thought I might set one up. Please send me an email at bookwormact@gmail.com if you are interested.

Not sure what books will be on the list but I have just recently bought the The Zookeeper’s War by Stephen Conte which won the 2008 Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Fiction. This might be a start but am completely open to suggestions. My initial thoughts are meeting once per month i.e. the first Wednesday of every month.

Venue to be determined!

I did read about knitting with dog hair in the Good Weekend a couple of weeks ago in an article about unusual books…LOL

But no, knitting was not the sort of books I imagined discussing.

By northside, I meant inner north. A quiet pub sounds good to me but I am still pretty new to Canberra so someone else would need to choose the venue.

By northside do you mean the inner north, belco or way up north in Alaska (Gungahlin). I would suggest making the venue a quiet bar somewhere, good books, interesting conversation and a few drinks, I’d join.
