The ACT Fire Brigade have received a number of enquires via telephone and social media asking whether it is safe to go outdoors.

Due to changes in wind direction and as a precautionary measure the ACT Fire Brigade advises residents located in Campbell, Braddon, Downer, Dickson and Watson to try and remain indoors and people to avoid the area if possible. It is safe for residents outside the exclusion zone to travel outdoors.

People who have concerns they may have come into contact with the product of the smoke plume and have any symptoms should seek medical attention at an emergency department or ring emergency triple zero 000 for life threatening cases.

I can’t believe they are shutting ALL of Mitchell down all weekend, i had shit i needed to buy there tomoz. Bastards!

There might be places in Fyshwick you can purchase the same ‘goods’?

Nice pic.

There was another update to say that everyone was allowed outside now. But to practice caution around Mitchell, whatever that means.

I went out for a walk today and didn’t notice anything. I do have a bit of a tingly nose, but i don’t think that’s related.

Those swine. If people want to inhale toxic chemicals while browsing market stalls they should have the right to.

Have pizza deliveries been affected?

There are finals of two different codes of football on tonight.

I have stocked up on beer, but I will require food at some stage.

the zombies will get you….. “live braiiiinnnnnnns”

Well I’ve been seeing people out and about walking the dog/doing the gardening/wandering around with vague expressions on their faces all over Ainslie all day (zombies?!) – I think your groceries are probably still on their way.

Hmmm… I wonder if my groceries will still get delivered tonight!
