For a bit of fun here’s a media release that made its way in to me today:

    Motorcycle Awareness Week

    11th to the 17th of October 2008

    “Where’s JOE Rider” Competition

Commencing at the close of the official launch ceremony on the 11th of October will be the launch of the “Where’s Joe Rider?” Competition proudly sponsored by Seears work wear.

The competition is simple, other road users are asked to look out for JOE rider and when they see JOE to either send an SMS Pete on 0419 866 126 or email Joerider@internode.com.au identifying themselves with; Name, contact number and where they saw JOE.

How to identify JOE? That’s easy. JOE will be wearing a bright YELLOW safety vest with JOE in big black bold writing on the back.

    Winners and Prizes:

5 lucky entrants will be drawn out of the barrel at the Bikers Breakfast in Lennox Gardens on the 17th of October and will have the choice of:

    An hours pillion around the ACT and districts on a choice of motorcycle (cruiser, sports, sidecar) or scooter;

Be a pillion in the lead group of the annual Toy run in December; OR

A morning with the Dual Sports Motorcycle Riders Association getting down and dirty in the Kowan forest on your own or a loan motorcycle with tuition.

Tell your friend, tell the community look out for JOE coming to a street near you.
Authorised by the Motorcycle Awareness Committee.

For all queries please contact Mr Peter Major 02 6207 0073 or 0419 866 126

Speaking of which, when is the toy run? I’m in.

Saturday, December 13. I highly recommend it – they’re great fun. Not many occasions that you’ll rate a police escort stopping traffic for you 😉

So, are we supposed to send the SMS while we’re driving? 😉

Ah, but then UB NEXT. Decisions, decisions…

So, are we supposed to send the SMS while we’re driving? 😉

Yeah, me to, I’ve always wanted to go in a toy run.
