Kaleen house fire

ACT Fire & Rescue is responding multiple units to a house fire in Daintree Crescent Kaleen.

FIrst arriving crew has confirmed the house is well alight.

Update to follow.

7:31pm Friday 2 Nov 2012

Firefighters have contained the fire to within the house and are working to extinguish it.

Three fire crews, the breathing apparatus support van and commander are on the scene.

A male occupant safely self evacuated from the fire.

7:47pm Friday 2 Nov 2012

The fire has been extinguished.

The HAZMAT crew are now on scene conducting atmospheric monitoring in nearby properties which were evacuated because of the smoke caused by the fire.

The house has been destroyed. The cause is unknown and will be investigated.

much better written than my article JB.
The roof collapsed before the firies got there. I’m glad no one was hurt. It was pretty major the house is like totally destroyed.
