Kaleen house fire

ACT Fire & Rescue are on scene at a house fire in Kaleen.

Fire crews arrived on scene in Blythe Street to find the property fully engulfed in fire.

Update to follow.

6:38pm Friday 24 February 2012

Firefighters are working to contain the fire.

There are three fire pumpers, breathing aparartus support crew, the HAZMAT vehicle and commander on scene.

Occupants safely self evacuated after the fire started.

6:46pm Friday 24 February 2012

The fire has been extinguished.

ACT Fire & Rescue crews are now ventilating the smoke from the four bedroom brick and tile house.

The initial damage bill has been estimated at $150,000.

An investigation will be conducted into the cause.
