With the tiny numbers turning out to Enlighten you’d think booking the same sort of acts again would be a no no.

But the Celebrate Australia Day facebook page brings word of what to expect:

Hi everyone, INXS and Katie Noonan will be performing at the Australia Celebrates Live concert on the 25th January. If you’re in Canberra make sure you get down to Parliament House from 7pm or tune into ABC1 for the live broadcast!

For those thinking of taking in the free entertainment the event webpage notes there will be a family friendly booze free area this year.

Anyone know where I can get VIP tickets?

I say get INXS here every fortnight. They’ve only gone from strength to unhelpful-government-hand-in-market strength since that deadweight singer pleasured himself out of contention for some sweet ACTTAB takings.

The thing that tops this off for mine is to be able to enjoy it all in Canberra’s spiritual home: Parliament House.

Enlighten was over priced and badly organised and the sight of Barr grinning smugly in his new found identity as ACT concert promoter put me off the concept for good. A free gig with Noonan, SSS & INXS and a family zone is a different matter and I’ll be there with the Swaggettes.

The smiling assassin strikes again.

Katie Noonan is talented, possibly not right for the squealing bogue teens that will be trying to get their mug on TV. Not sure how INXS is still INXS and not just some other band with people that used to be in INXS. Still, better than a collection of ex Aus Idol/X Factor/Other Generic Talent Show wash ups.
