The ABC has a story on a study commissioned by the Southern ACT Catchment Group into Lake Tuggeranong’s lurid green waters.

The Southern ACT Catchment Group commissioned environmental scientist Ian Lawrence from the Cooperative Research Centre for eWater to investigate the health of the lake.

He found poor design, soil run-off, organic matter and litter are fuelling algal blooms.

The report found building wetlands, planting more native species and improving the quality of the water flowing into the lake would help address the problem.
