Light Rail in the ACT, subject of next TCC meeting – 1 April 2014.

Hi,
Another interesting TCC meeting this month. Members and visitors were given an update on the Federal Government funding announcement to clean up Lake Tuggeranong and the results of the Clean Up effort around the Lake by an army of volunteers.  Wayne King spoke on the advice he received from the ACT Government the park on the corner of Deamer and Heagney Cres in Chisholm has been saved from developers and officially renamed Caroline Chisholm Park. We heard from local members, Mick Gentleman, Nicole Lawder and Andrew Wall  and were given an opportunity to put them on the spot with some good questions from the floor. Linda Kohlhagen gave us a update on the redevelopment of the Tuggeranong Community Health Centre and Danny O’Neill spoke about his work with youth at risk in Canberra. We were sorry to learn that Sergeant Daryl Neit is moving on but we were pleased to welcome Sergeant Joanne Cameron who will provide us with regular updates from the Tuggeranong Valley Police beat. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday 1 April where our guest speaker will be Ben Smith from Capital Metro. He will talk on the development of light rail in Canberra. See you at the next TCC meeting.

Here is the link to Capital Metro Agency latest propaganda: http://www.slideshare.net/informaoz/benjamin-smith-capital-metro-agency

The agency is hiring staff as fast as most other agencies are firing them. They are “engaging” with the community and sponsoring some community organisations. Sounds like ACTEW all over again.
This is blatant buying of influence.

The info log and PowerPoint slide show presentation on the link is all about “vision” and “warm feelings” which is about all the ratepayers of Tuggeranong (who are co-underwriters of the north of the lake project) will see.

A quick glance through the Powerpoint Pot Pouri urges me to re-name this folly as the “Capital Metro Eclectic Tram Magical Mystery Tour”.

I urge all ratepayers in Tuggeranong to attend the meeting and ask questions about “where the money is coming from”. Don’t be snowed by the PPP finance response.

It can hardly be termed as a magical mystery tour when the departure point and final destination is known and, I presume, are all points in between.

Lil Wayne “Cold in the D” rules. That was cool, we’re gonna score.
I’ll be watching my old Beavis & Butthead DVDs tonight. Can you believe some Rioters actually watch Narnia? I’ll bet there watching something else in that wardrobe.

What makes you think I even clicked on your link before going off half cocked? In accordance with RA standard practice, shoot first and ask questions later…
