Was an awesome day of hillclimb racing, had the Outright Track Record broken 5 times during the day!

Here are a few pics of the cars from the SDMA Facebook page:

I caught one run through just after lunch. Had a good variety of cars going through. Some photos: http://on.fb.me/12wtS73

I went for an hour or so this morning. Quite entertaining to watch. A couple of cars did their lap in high 37’s.
I’lI definitely go back another time.

Oh I forgot the worlds biggest nimby on the ridge hopping he had carked it by now. Made life hell for the bike club and go karts for a while prolly stoll going on

Yep that’s the one – whinging old bastard! Probably still kickin..everyone in that whole area has had to jump through ridiculous EPA hoops because of one whinging nimby.

This should be a top race meet, weather permitting.
The car pictured is built and driven by a former F1 and Indycar engineer and is a great bit of gear with some very well thought out and executed fabrication and aerodynamics.

People suck.

Fairbairn Park is just inside the ACT; which makes for even tougher noise restrictions sadly. We have all the gear set up to monitor noise and disqualify competitors that breach the prescribed level, this happens very very rarely!

We (Southern District Motorsports Assosciation) ran a charity hillclimb at Fairbairn for HeartKids 2 weeks ago, raised almost 10k for HeartKids and gave around 100 kids a ride around the track…and what do you know, someone complained and we had EPA out there holding us up while we were trying to take the kids for laps :/

It’s a good day out and it’s over the border so no complaining nimbys

No, because only ACT people are disturbed by loud noise, people in NSW love loud noise on their weekends.

You’d think so but unfortunately there exists a big whinging nimby around there.
