Log Boom Lift at the Cotter Dam!

Heavy engineering fans rejoice, we have a Log Boom Lift, with a helicopter no less, from the Cotter Dam Expansion site:

An update from the continuing Cotter Dam enlargement works. See the log boom being choppered in and hear from the team.

Where did all the water go? At one point last year the old dam was submerged but now it appears to be visible again. I guess they let it out (or pumped it out) to finish the construction of the new dam?

There’s a couple of pipes running under the new dam. They’ve obviously been releasing water.

If Actew are going to waste our money on ‘feel good’ films about themselves then Id hope they’d at least get someone who can hold a camera properly – what is that shot at 3.24 all about? Spending OUR money on this is no worse then throwing money at the Raiders, Brumbies and electric car schemes though. Is there anyone at ACTEW accountable for all this wastage?
