We’re looking for enthusiastic people who’d like to learn some simple and energetic dance steps for performance at the 2015 Canberra Multicultural Festival.

Perhaps you like great rhythm, perhaps you have some Irish family connections somewhere or maybe you just like trying new things?

It’s also a fun way to keep fit & healthy and something you can do at home.

Below is an example of the Irish brush dance with some sean nos steps- we would be doing something similar but simplified.

Irish sean nos (shan-nose) dancing is the oldest of the six Irish dance styles, and is a free-style form of rhythmic dance that is great fun to learn and sounds great.

It’s now becoming very popular in Ireland and we’d like to show more Canberrans this lovely style of dance.

Classes for learning these steps & style are on Monday evenings at the Hellenic Club in Civic. You can contact the organiser Nora Stewart here or ring 6230 3305.
