This in from Samantha:

Hi there,

I was just wondering if you might be able to post something about my missing dog on RiotAct. If you send me an email I can reply with a photo of him. Below is what is posted on Facebook. Thanks so much, and if you’d like to contact me my number is **********.

Joey has gone missing today (9/4/2013). If you live in the Gungahlin/Casey area, please share this photo and spread the word in case someone has seen him.

He is an 11yo chihuahua, wearing a blue collar, and has a distinctive white marking on his head and the tip of his tail. He was a rescue dog who has lost most of his teeth and is timid around people/dogs/cats so may be hiding somewhere.

My phone number is on his tag, and he is microchipped and registered. I am staying positive that he is inadvertently in someone’s yard or is at the pound/vets/RSPCA and they haven’t had a chance to call me, but until I can call them tomorrow I want to spread his photo around, just in case.

Please contact me if you’ve seen him. Thank you.

UPDATE: We’ve got a happy ending:

Joey has been found safe and well!! My best friend was worried sick and couldn’t sleep so she went for a drive around Nicholls, Casey and Ngunnawal, and she found him wandering the street. He was absolutely terrified but she managed to catch him and brought him home. He’s all tuckered out from what must have been quite a big adventure for the little fella.

Thank you so much again for posting his details on RiotAct. I feel like I’m about to have the best sleep of my life (and so does he!)

home safe

I hope he wasn’t eaten by a feral cat. Good luck. <3

Good luck Samantha… it’s my worst nightmare that my little girl goes for a wander, and I’ve taken it to heart in the past when we’ve taken lost pooches home til we can find its owner (or as a last resort, hand them into the RSPCA).

We’ll definitely keep our eyes open for him, and hope he likes my little girl enough that he’ll come out of hiding for a play.
