Lurid details on the Downer double murder

No subject on RiotACT has ever quite brought the nutters out in quite such numbers as last year’s double murder in Downer of Struan Bolas, 48, and Julie Franko (aka Tattersall), 35.

Yesterday in court the lurid and gory details of the crime scene were trotted out.

I don’t propose to reproduce them here. But if you’re into that kind of thing the Canberra Times and ABC both have the details.

Any chance of that place going on the market? Could be a cheap way to secure a cheap property in the inner-north?

When two people are murdered what’s the first thing that comes to your mind “CHEAP LAND”???? “COULD MAKE A PROFIT”??? Just want to let you know that you are SICK and you should go and get some help for your greed problem. Sometimes greed is good, but not in your case! When greed starts affecting your moral judgements there is a problem.

Land has been sold.

The house has been bulldozed, so need to drive there and ogle.

You haven’t heard it all yet, as magistrate Beth Campbell had heard enough, he has a case to answer to murder, all will revealed in the supreme court, you will be shocked, and people do want to know what happened, as this case doe’s need to be heard by the public, so monster will be sentenced for the brutal and heinous crime, the public need to be safe, we don’t want someone like ‘it’ killing your loved ones or yourself.

Agree Flynnite

Nothing will ever hurt the families including comments on any site or anything printed in papers as much as finding out the day they did that it was their loved ones that were deceased. Only those that knew the victims, their families will ever know the pain they have suffered with such public traumatic deaths. They had no digntiy in their deaths and now with what has been printed. With whats come of this committal many will have good insight as to what happened that night and now rumours can rest and leave it to supreme court. Let the deceased rest in peace and the loved ones get through this time until finally the person that did this receives the punishment that he has coming to him. I certainly do not want someone like this on the streets walking free especially in our community. I guess as residents of the ACT we all need must agree on one thing we dont want people who committ such crimes to be walking free.

why murder to people – bang. Then drive to your house and brag of a double murder? It defeats the purpose of having killed them in the first place. I mean was this guy hoping his flat mates would be like “nice work you cut his throat then stabbed him – lets sit down for tea and bickies and enjoy our day” What a retard. He may as well have gone to the cop shop or even rung up Junee jail and made reservations…

The family’s involved in this tragedy are still pretty upset. Hurting badly.

They are having to relive all this again and finding it all very hard to do.

# 15 Re the property in Downer and his Will, that is his family’s business.

The house probably will never be sold or lived in again.

I heart lurid details.

Ark up? Whp has the time to build large boats for transporting two of every animal in these financial times…

I understand they are still investigating the will and wont be able to sell the house until it is finalised. As a resident of the said street it can not be soon enough until that house is on the market. At least the traffic has slowed down quite considerably since.

A really sad state of affairs, and just hope that this trial will eventually give closure to the families concerned.

Any chance of that place going on the market? Could be a cheap way to secure a cheap property in the inner-north?

Now back on topic please, that is not my love life.

And if any media outlet thought my love life was that interesting then good luck to them.

Sorry, got the name wrong, that should be Johnboy’s love life…

Johnno,

I suppose I was thinking in terms of a distinction between what may be of interest to the public, like the lurid details of Johhno’s love life, and what are matters of public interest in that they might contibute to public debate about policy issues on dealing with crime.

I can’t see why these lurid details have been published.

They don’t seem to add anything of public interest.

The CSI nerds will be going crazy like a coconut.

Trust me ray, the public is interested.

That article is pretty full on…
