Deakin man to face Mr Fluffy-related fraud charge

By Charlotte Harper - 12 May 2016 1

ACT Magistrates Court

A Deakin man alleged to have falsely represented to a home owner that Mr Fluffy asbestos had been found in their residence was due to appear in court this morning, but the matter was adjourned for three weeks in his absence.

Garry John Miller, 54, had been summonsed to appear before court on charges of producing a false/misleading document. He did not appear during a brief mention of the matter, which will next be in court in June.

Police allege Miller produced a document that falsely represented to the home owner that Mr Fluffy asbestos had been located in their home.

Readers who are concerned about advice they have received regarding Mr Fluffy asbestos or have paid to have Mr Fluffy asbestos removed privately, should contact the Asbestos Response Taskforce on 13 22 81.
