The first of two reports on maternity services at the Canberra Hospital has just been released.

According to Katy Gallagher, it gave glowing praise:
Review confirms public maternity services delivering quality care to women

According to the ABC, things aren’t so rosy:
Review damns Canberra Hospital management

You can find the report itself online

There is more about this in the Canberra Times today, and it seems Katy is the only one who thinks it is all good.

Katy has become a bit of a walking disaster. Given that, the job of ACT Health Minister is definitely a poisoned chalice – Simple Simon failed abysmally, and Katy is no better.

The only reason the terms of reference included clinical outcomes, rather than being limited to the bullying claims is because Katy and Stanhope wanted to bully the doctors out of pursuing their claims – as such it is interesting to see that Katy is focussing on a part of the report that backfired.

I heard her on 666 this morning – quite clear she got found out backing the wrong horse.

oh dear, katy sounds very equivocal on this issue- a few months ago she was staunchly with the ‘victims of the spurious allegations’ (or words to that effect) but now the report has found these same allegations have some merit she is trying to look like the tough dude down on the bad doctors/administration… she didn’t seem to handle it well from the start, one wonders what faith any of us should have in her handling it any better now…
