ACT Fire & Rescue has evacuated a small number of people from an apartment complex in Mawson because of a fire.
Crews responded to the Hird Street complex with three fire pumpers and commander.
Firefighters arrived to find a fire in the kitchen of the second floor apartment which they quickly extinguished.
Crews are now ventilating the property before allowing residents back inside.

ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics treated a 55 year old man for smoke inhalation and transported him to The Canberra Hospital in a stable condition.
