The Age are reporting that local man Bob will be representing Australia in the falling-over-themselves world effort to to administer aid in Burma.

Since he’s already got $25mil on the table, its quite a responsibility. I mark this about 8 months since the Federal election – no need to point to the naysayers with a stick, but nah nah de nah nah, what did floorcrosser would-be-independent Humphries ever get to do ?

Your post election claims just went up in smoke.

how amusing that for thumper its okay for zed to take a night off to have dinner with some buddies of his and leave voters without their elected representative but critisizes mcmullan who turns up and quietly represents voters as being the invisible man.

hmmmm.

And you also can’t seriously believe that Canberra has above average health care. We are the worst in the country for bulk billing, and the second worst in the country for GPs per head of population.

Our hospital has enormous waiting times.

Babies here only get 3 visits with health nurses in their first 18 months – in Victoria they go once a month.

Kids in Adelaide are bulk billed everywhere until they are twelve.

I would say ACT health care is one of the worst in the country, especially for a city area.

I got off the phone with an ex-pat businesswoman in Thailand who was quite happily telling me than any foreign-labelled aid being given to Burmese government or its representatives is being re-labelled to “Shared by the Government of the Union of Burma” in English and Myanmari.
She also claims there is quite an outflow of border crossings, but nobody much seems to care.

If he just comes back with only photos posing with the starving children (as a New Leadership on Spin cycle moment), can we make him answer why?

Precisely what can a representative do for a region that has above average wages, above average education, above average health care ?

Besides standing at the bench crying wolf, Canberra generally comes off second best because there’s places in Australia that are much worse off.

Only on the pro-Liberal camp is this a bad thing.

What another weird post.

It’s good that McMullan is at last doing something for someone. Makes up for him doing very little for us Canberrans.

He has said nothing about the PS job cuts and the funding attacks on our National institutions.

After all the recent strange posts from the Libs it is pleasing to see that Labor has its share of nuts too.

This is the best way I have come accross in regards to protesting about this particular countries add ball set-up.

Skidbladnir’s Maelinar Translator generates the following result:

McMuppet = McMullan the Puppet
Jim Henson = the Puppet Master = Kevin Rudd

Translation, McMullan is going to Burma at the request of Kevin Rudd to distribute food, assistance, and get lots of photographs taken of him, in the public relations exercise every MP wants to be part of.

Apparently those of us who claimed McMullan was going to be sidelined are being proven wrong, and our needs are being adequately represented by McMullan.

There is also an attack on Magic Gaz in there.

is… not it..

I’m a bit confused what Mael’s point it? Can’t tell if its pro/anti labor/liberal..

Huh?

Anyone feel like deciphering Maelinar’s stream of consciousness?
