Melba servo knocked over

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery at the 7-Eleven Service Station in Melba last night (Sunday, December 1).

Around 9.30pm, a man entered the service station on Chinner Street, armed with a knife and threatened an employee making demands for cash and cigarettes.

The employee complied with the demands, handing over a sum of cash and cigarettes before the man fled the store. He was last seen running in a southerly direction from the rear of the service station.

The man is described as 180cm (5’11”) tall with a slim build. At the time of the robbery his face was concealed by a scarf and he was wearing dark coloured clothing.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information which can assist in identifying the man, or anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity around Chinner Street, Melba last night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.
