A Melbourne man has been jailed for raping a woman after a 21st birthday party in Canberra five years ago, according to the ABC.
The 24-year-old was in Canberra for a party in 2009. After meeting the woman, the two of them were separated from the main group while in Civic.
They returned to the home of the woman’s friend but were unable to enter as it was locked. Instead they slept in the shed, but the woman said she woke up to find the man having sex with her.
The ACT Supreme Court found the man guilty of sexual assault earlier this year and has been sentenced to two years in prison.
