A 21-year-old Chisholm motorcycle rider has collided with a stationary police car early this morning (Wednesday, 16 April).

At about 4.15am, members from Tuggeranong Police Station were conducting laser speed detection in north bound lanes of the Monaro Highway in Hume, about 100 metres south of the Mugga Way turn off.

Around this time a motorcycle rider was detected travelling at 156km/hr in a posted 80km/hr zone.

When directed to stop the rider lost control of his motorcycle, coming off the bike, and colliding with the rear of the AFP car.

ACT Ambulance Service attended and conveyed the rider to The Canberra Hospital with minor injuries.

The man is likely to be summonsed for the traffic offences which include speeding, driving an unregistered motorcycle and being an unlicenced rider.

The police car received minor damage.

Hit a car and came off at 156 k’s and only sustained minor injuries…..lucky

Funny how they set up a speed trap to try and reduce crashes and in the process, they caused a crash haha.

So it is best to do the anti-social stuff in the middle of the day when the plod is back in the shop surfing the net.

I reckon I’d fall over if I saw anything other than a camera checking my speed, too.
(then again, I’m rarely doing the ton on the Monaro Hwy at stupid o’clock, either. Is this really when the rozzers are at their most active?)

Well its apparently when speeders are too so why not?

Everybody thinks there are no cops around at those times and they can drive as fast as they want.

I can understand the shock he felt when the cop stepped out, but it is a bit of a worry that it cause him to lose control to that extent. Numpty.

Motorcycle vs Police car? Ha only one possible outcome and the loser is, going down!
