A 23-year-old man has died after a collision between a car and the motorcycle he was riding on Lady Denman Drive in Acton this morning.

About 8.30am, police were called to the scene. ACT Ambulance Service attended and confirmed one male had died.

The driver and a passenger in the car involved in the collision were taken to hospital, but the RiotACT understands they are not seriously injured.

ACT Policing’s Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Team are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Acting Station Sergeant Stephen Booth, of Traffic Operations, said there were witnesses to the collision and police had spoken to them today.

“I remind all road users to please take care in poor conditions on the road,” he said.

“Please drive safely, we’d like everyone to get home safe and sound.”

The man is the sixth person to have died on ACT roads this year.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information that could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or report via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.

Police remind readers they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter.
