The ABC brings word of the final takeover move by the Labor Party’s national executive in their battle for the asset rich ACT branch.

The assistant national secretary, Elias Hallaj, is now the ACT secretary of the party.

Garrett Purtill, who last year was turning up as the media contact on Katy Gallagher media releases, is the new president of the branch. He also turns up in a 2006 NSW Stateline story losing a pre-selection to David Hill.

What the new order bring to pre-selections is an excitement that will have to wait for another day.

Purtill still works in katy’s office but is a policy adviser.
