Nicholls house fire

ACT Fire & Rescue has extinguished a house fire at Ibis Street, Nicholls.

Three fire pumpers on scene, the Breathing Apparatus Van and a Command Officer.

No damage to neighbouring properties.

Extensive fire damage to the roof, garage and lounge room of the four bedroom house.

Single occupant of the house evacuated safely.

Fire crews on scene also rescued a dog.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 11.25pm.

Update to follow.

Correction- The single female occupant was evacuated from the house with the assistance from ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics, who treated the 37-year-old patient for minor smoke inhalation and transported her to Calvary Hospital.

House has sustained significant damage.

ACT Fire & Rescue will shortly hand the scene over to ACT Policing to investigate the cause of the fire.
