The National Institute of Dramatic Art is letting it be known they’re running summer short courses in Canberra this year:

From complete beginners dabbling in drama for the first time to seasoned actors looking to hone specific skills, and kids wanting to have some fun flexing their drama muscles during the holidays, there’s something for everyone passionate about performance and the dramatic arts on offer through NIDA Open’s Summer Short Course program in Canberra this January.

NIDA Open offers a range of short courses for young people and adults over the summer holiday period – in the disciplines of drama, acting and screen acting – providing some of the best dramatic arts training available in Canberra.

Courses include fun school holiday activities that cater to 9-11 year-olds and 12-15 year-olds, together with more intensive skills-focused drama programs offered at various proficiency levels, for people aged 16 and over.

Courses run for five days during the week or for two days over the weekend, between Monday 21 January and Sunday 27 January, at Canberra Theatre Centre.

Drama activities for 9-11 year-olds and 12-15 year-olds include Drama School and Acting: Boot Camp.

More advanced course options for young adults aged 16+ include Acting: An Introduction, NIDA Acting Techniques and Screen Acting Essentials.

Classes are taught by NIDA tutors who are leading specialists in theatre, film and television. Many are NIDA graduates who have since gone on to achieve great successes as actors and performing arts practitioners.
