The CPSU is getting very excited by Tony Abbotts plans to develop Northern Australia with gulags of public servants:

The CPSU has expressed concern over a federal Opposition plan which would see federal public sectors workers lose their jobs if they refuse to relocate to the Top End.

According to a plan announced today an Abbott Government would relocate “relevant components of Federal departments and Commonwealth agencies, such as CSIRO and AQIS, to key urban zones in Northern Australia,” such as Karratha, Darwin, Townsville and Cairns.

And to acclimatise these poor people who are used to the temperate summers of Canberra, the newly constructed centers will have enormous air conditioning systems running at maximum capacity to appease the comfort of those who dress in their standard garb. I wonder how popular commuting by bicycle will be in 40 plus degrees and 70% humidity? They’d also want to upgrade the air transit services to at least an A.C.T level, as driving back to Canberra for meetings and such would be a less popular mode of transport. Why send CSIRO and AQIS all the way up there, where it’s as far as you can get from our import/export terminals and costs of moving equipment and supplies would be much greater than presently? I just don’t understand some ideas.

Does anybody else find it strange that the Liberal party – champions of the free market – want to engage in a great big, social engineering, utopian project for the Top End?

Well it worked in Dubai. Anyway, who is the amateur who prepared the graphic? In these days of Photoshop it would be quite easy to put Tony’s head onto that body. Just ask the German glossy mags who were able to put Princess Di’s head onto various bodies back in the 1990s.

When 20,000 people are set to lose their jobs, and those who are left are facing a move to a steamy rat-hole or unemployment… I dare say those in the CPSU had better things to do than pretend to be graphic designers.

Such as trying to protect the jobs of over half the posters on The Riot Act.

I’m sure they’ll get a few volunteers in this weather.

Yes howeph

I guess it is strange but in this Alice in Wonderland game of modern day politics, nothing should surprise – even echoes of Rex Connor in Liberal party policies.

I wonder if the Khemlani family will be involved in the financing arrangements for this nation building policy?

Does anybody else find it strange that the Liberal party – champions of the free market – want to engage in a great big, social engineering, utopian project for the Top End?
