Oaks Estate Mulch Fire

ACT Fire Brigade on scene at a fire of a pile of mulch on Railway Street, Oaks Estate. Estimated size of pile of mulch 60 metres x 40 metres.

No property at risk.

Fire being extinguished by ACT Fire Brigade with assistance from Fire and Rescue NSW and Queanbeyan City Council.

Smoke is non-toxic and will blow over the Queanbeyan area.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 11.22am.

ACT Rural Fire Service also assisting in extinguishing mulch fire.

Crews using heavy plant equipment with two front end loaders turning mulch over.

Crews expecting to have mulch fire fully extinguished this afternoon.

Fire is almost fully extinguished and crews are about to depart the scene.

Queanbeyan City Council will monitor the site.
