ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery at an O’Connor chemist shop last night (Saturday, March 3).

The offender, wearing dark clothing and a stocking over his head, has entered the premises around 8.40pm and threatened staff with a knife.

He has taken a sum of money, placed it in a bag, and then ran out.

A crime scene was established at the location with General Duties patrols, Crime Investigations detectives, an SRS K9 unit, and AFP Forensic Services in attendance. The K9 team followed a trace scent to the nearby O’Connor ovals, but was unsuccessful in following it further.

Anyone who may have seen a male wearing dark clothing, carrying a bag, and acting suspiciously in the area of the O’Connor shops or the nearby oval around the time of the robbery is urged contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

It’s not uncommon for O’Connor Chemist to get rolled, and the staff there are smart and trained so that the situation doesn’t escalate. Give the f**cker the money or whatever drugs he or she wants and let them leave, money is replacable and lives aren’t.

Somebody has a problem with tenses…

Is police PR written by professional PR people, or do they just grab a random school drop-out crim out of the cells and put them to work writing this crap?

I bet they don’t have to do Jury Duty though.

Hey, HenryBG. No-one cares.

This is sad to hear. It makes everyone anxious when this sort of thing happens.

Hmm, that’s odd, they usually have a security guard at the door. Either they need to change companies or there was noone on watch last night for some reason.

Given their sister chemist in Lyneham was rolled recently you’d reckon they’d be being extra vigilant.

Same guy having a time in the Lyneham chemist a week ago?
