Paddys River grassfire

The ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire & Rescue are working to extinguish a grassfire fire burning at Paddys River.

The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level for this fire has been set at ADVICE.

The ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire & Rescue has seven units responding to the scene.

The fire is located near the river at Point Hut Crossing.

The fire is approximately two hectares in size and is being controlled.

The fire is burning at a slow rate and is heading in a easterly direction direction.

The Fire Danger Rating where this fire is burning is VERY HIGH.

Fires burning in VERY HIGH conditions can be difficult to control – flames may burn into the tree tops.

There is little to no risk to life and property from this fire.

The grass fire at Paddy’s River has been extinguished.

Crews are conducting mopping up operations.

The ACT Rural Fire Service and ACT Fire & Rescue will shortly conduct a final patrol of the area before leaving the scene.

The cause has been deemed accidental.

Numerous Emergency Triple Zero (000) calls were made from 1:20pm.
