G’day,
During the week I was in consultation with the ACT Government discussing a rewrite of the ACT Firearms laws as they pertain to Paintball. The main charges we are pushing for are:
a. changing participation age to 16 (with parental consent),
b. permitting personal ownership of paintball markers and
c. recogntion of interstate/international paintball licenses.

If implemented, these changes will really make a dramatic change to the way paintball operates in the ACT and bring us on par with other states.

Also, the next round of the Adventure Paintball 5 man Novice series is on 28 Oct 07. There is a guaranteed prize pool of $1000. Details are on the website.

We also offer ‘Ultimate party packs’ for Bucks/21st parties etc. We can also tailor a Christmas Party to meet your needs. Organisers of groups of 20 or more get the parties FREE! We are also still running our $10 Sundays.
cheers, Kieran

Hmmm….didnt look very busy there on the weekend, did anyone even turn up??

So how many teams have registered for the tourney so far Kieran?

Gday Maelinar, Our smallest field is approx 30 x 40m. That is a bit bigger than the standard “1/4 acre house block” or 3 times that of some of the new ‘affordable house blocks’. If that is “10m x 10m” can I buy some land off you? We started off with smaller fields to accommodate group sizes as small as 8. We ahve now developed some larger fields for bigger groups. Our biggest current field is approx 2.5 acres ((10000m2). We have just finished clearing/levelling another 2 acre field and have just started on a 4 acre field that will be our ‘village’ field. We are taking longer than expected on the hill field, but once finished that will be 6- 8 acres, with a second stage the same size.

We are also currently in the planning stage to get electricity on and then we will be offering night play on at least 2 fields during daylight savings. I am also in discussions with Forestry to expand even further back into the Pines.

Also, HenryG has spent just about every weekend for the last 18 months at the fields.

cheers, Kieran

Ever played at the Tuggernanong field ?

You’ll see what I mean.

what do you mean 10m x 10m I don’t think anyone could play anything on that

Please ‘fer christ’s sake, make the field bigger than 10m x 10m.

Gday The Relapse King (TRK?). We offer two types of paintball; the standard woodsball in bushland with natural and artificial barricades; and tournament play on custom sized field with the inflatable sup air field. As piperdoon indicated, different strokes for different folks and we cater for both! This discussion is about a tournament. We use the sup air field for the tourney players but we also have a number of groups coming out and using the bush fields on the day as well!

Coming very soon is our ‘village field’ and hopefully this will satisfy your desire for a ‘Nam’ like field.

Cheers, Kieran

why is there beach volleyball and indoor volleyball; futsal and footbal; indoor hockey, field hockey and ice hockey; down hill racing and giant slalom; bush paintball fields and tournament (supair) painball fields – variations on a theme…..people like different things

I had a look at the website, whey do they play with the inflatable stuff to hide behind? I prefer the paintball places that are in bushland. That way it feels more like Nam.

Gday, the changes are forecast to go through in the next 6 months, but given the importance of the overall Firearms Act, could be much sooner! Not that I am going to hang by my neck waiting though!

Kieran

good stuff Kieran – any timeframe or is this something that will need to struggle through bureaucracy for a while before it sees the light of day (eg late 2008?
