Here’s another one for your series of parking photos.
It was taken at Canberra Hospital around 3:30 this afternoon.
Sorry for the quality, it was a rush job on my phone.

I suspect they drove there in a hurry as someone was sick or injured at the hospital. No time to unhitch the trailer. Doesn’t appear to be in anyone’s way though. Nothing to see here. I wouldn’t say they deserve a fine or any hate for it.

That’s a lot of assumptions.
People may be able to drive past yes, but the poor sod opposite could have some trouble reversing out.

and the red prius next to the fowlcan looks like it could have issues reversing out as well
Meh, if he’s only inconveniencing a 4×4 and a Prius, I can live with that.

Lol at this. I would have to agree that I’m less inclined to care if they are a 4×4 and a Prius. Unless the 4×4 was actually used for 4WDing.
It’s hardly an inconvenience. I personally wouldn’t have gotten annoyed if I was the 4×4 or the prius driver or the driver opposite. I could easily just swing around it as I’m turning the wheel anyway. It’s a fair bit easier for me to turn the wheel slightly differently than it is for him to unhitch his trailer and rehitch it again. Plus if he did unhitch it and drag it to another carpark, it would take up another space. Even if his only excuse was that he had to go to the tip on the way home and couldn’t be bothered unhitching it and then driving home and rehitching and then driving back out to the tip and then back and unhitching again, I’d say fair enough.
If it was a tiny carpark where it was not possible to get around the trailer at all, then he would be being inconsiderate, but it appears that he tried to get it as straight as possible and has his car further forward than the others so that he takes up less space and this is a fairly wide-laned carpark.
it’s also blocked the pedestrian walkway.
some people are so inconsiderate. if it was an emergency, i’d doubt they would have gone into the undercover parking lot.

Looks like there is room enough to get past on foot to me.

Oh noes, a pedestrian may have had to walk around the trailer, and check for cars for the 5 seconds it’d take them to get past it!!
Let’s say these people were driving somewhere, and shit hit the fan – they for some unexpected reason found themselves needing to head to hospital. There is no such thing as ‘emergency parking’ – they’ve got to park somewhere, and there are no spots in the biggest car park at the hospital (ie, this one) that allow a car and trailer to take up two spots. Where else were they supposed to go? Just see how long you get away with driving up to emergency and dumping your car…
So what are you going to do? Keep driving around until you find a suitable park, while your loved one is sitting in emergency, or just park as best you can, not blocking anyone who can actually drive in?
Maybe the above scenario didn’t actually happen at all, and this is just a photo of an arsehat – but I’d prefer to give the benefit of the doubt in a situation like this.

Not without the inconvenience of having to stop, look around and ensure nobody’s going to run them over. Why should everyone else have to accommodate this person’s horrendous parking?

because it’s a hospital and sometimes really unfortunate shit happens that means you don’t have time to unhook your trailer before going.
Pretty sure there’s no trailer parking at the hospital. In fact, parking at the hospital is a pretty poor arrangement altogether. It’s unfair to pick on this particular person.

Unless youre a police officer. Last time I visited emergency, there was almost more official police parking spaces as there were ambulance spaces. Previously there used to be one, but they removed a few public disabled parking spaces to make way for more.
The traffic enforcement at the hospital is pretty eager too. I once launched into a tirade of abuse against a parking ‘cop’ who fined a vehicle parked near emergency waiting to pick up an elderly patient. Even after pointing it out to him, the guy shrugged and walked off to find another car to write a ticket for.
