merc in the tradies

David has sent in this picture taken in the Dickson Tradies.

Will we ever tire of badly parked cars?

Einstein said: “Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the the universe.”

This series is in keeping with the spirit of those fine words.

Whenever that happens at Belconnen Mall i always let my trolley do the talking for me.

My mate had this happen to his car at Belco mall. I wonder if that was you?

Could have been, i was in a hurry to get back to ADFA.

Aha! Now we have an explanation for the attitude and behaviour…

I drive a Merc and it’s black and it’s value is more than two small cars, so I get two spaces!

Compensating for something?

If only your mate had a thin cotton cover over his car, it would have saved the damage!

you’re an ass-hole. Unless you see the person park, you don’t know what was in the way prior to that person parking.

And proud of it, whinger! People should always try to park properley. 131114, here is lifeline’s number, tell someone who cares what you think.

I think it’s important to spell properly before learning to park properly

Fair call, I will cop that! There is no reason for unlitteracy.

The driver of this car is a volunteer disabled carer who’s own car is in for repair, the Merc was generously lent as a replacement. On arriving at Dickson all of the handicap spaces were taken by tradesman’s vehicles and so as to facilitate the safe movement of the disabled passenger and their wheelchair was forced to park in this manner.
It’s obvious.

Tradies parking in handicapped parks – now that I can believe.

“The tradies took my spot, so I’m just going to park like an idiot because I have to, Boo hoo.”
Who cares what the excuse or how angelic the driver is, still not right. If the disabled person wasn’t driving, why park that far away from the column, it’d make more sense to scrunch up against it and make more room on the passenger side.

clearly, the text on the concrete has been tampered with and some words removed – the driver knew that the sign really meant to say ‘small part of your car only’ and was just being compliant in a befitting germanic efficient manner..?

Mercs, the cars you drive when you’re not a driver but a passenger who wants to finger tip the wheel while using a lumbar log to offset the ache of your wallet.

Unless its more than 4 years old, than it has the same value as a single new small car.

and if I saw someone like you hit my car with a trolley i would let my fists do the talking.

Yes, but ineffective little girly fists aren’t much of a threat, really, are they?

I wouldn’t know I don’t have little girly fists, maybe you could enlighten us?

LOL, Flame On!

While I usually try to give oddly parked cars the benefit of the doubt for that very reason, in this case I find it pretty hard to imagine that there was something next to the cement post which prevented him/her/it from parking correctly *AT THE SAME TIME* as there was something in the other space also preventing him/her/it from parking correctly in that one.

It is a very small carpark and in the particular area it is mostly small car park spaces. Only thing I can think of that COULD have been there is perhaps a motorbike. Either way I do not think that could have been cause enough for this person to double park like this.

I feel a lot happier with the world by laughing it off that this person is just a tosser who is kept warm at night only by his/her bank balance!

I drive a Merc and it’s black and it’s value is more than two small cars, so I get two spaces!

I agree with the A-hole comment though, although I suspect (hope) that PBO was joking.

To be fair, it’s probably the smallest car he (or she) owns.

c’mon….. what’s the licence number…. ? lol

we can keep our eyes out for it cruizin’ the streets

The driver in question is no doubt a wanker, but damaging someone else’s property makes you a bigger one.

haha I knew you guys would love this when I took it.

Funny thing is the day before I had seen a 4WD VW doing the EXACT same thing in the EXACT same car park.

So when I returned the next day and noticed this shiny Merc in the same position I just had to snap a pic!

Maybe they think a Merc is worth at least 2 small cars, so it’s justified.

Whenever that happens at Belconnen Mall i always let my trolley do the talking for me.

But it’s a Merc, it deserves 2 spots! Or at least the tosspot who owns it thinks so.

Agreed. I also own a very small, cosmetically rough car and love nothing more that sidling up to people who think their car deserves more than the allocated space.

This the sort of situation where I would take my small (and old and crap and dirty) car and park it in the narrow space beside the merc. I would then climb out the window (since there wouldn’t be room to open the door) and go into the pub for a cold beer.

Make that a long cold beer.
