Adding to tensions at Charnwood Shops is a dangerous thing indeed. But TAMS are warning that they’re resurfacing the car park:
The ACT Government wishes to advise motorists and other road users that the main car park of the Charnwood Shopping Centre will be resurfaced on Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 April 2013 (weather permitting).
The work will involve placing a layer of microsurfacing over the entire car park, including the ‘park and ride’ car park facility. The finished surface will be similar to asphalt and will be suitable for shopping trolleys and strollers.
In the event of unfavourable weather conditions, preventing the completion of the works, the resurfacing will be completed the following day.
Works are scheduled to be undertaken between 6 am and 4 pm. Half of the car park will be closed to traffic each morning and flagmen will assist motorists into the car park. As the work is completed, sections of the car park will be reopened to traffic and it is anticipated that the car park will be fully open before 4 pm each day.
Line markings will be replaced over the 10 days following the resurfacing works.
Pedestrian access to the shopping centre will be maintained at all times.
